                        ePACS Standardization

                                Who

                              The Inspection Service is supporting the 
                              standardization of the physical access control 
                              systems (PACS) used to secure USPS facilities. As 
                              the PACS become standardized, they will operate as 
                              an enterprise-wide physical access control system, 
                              or ePACS.

                              Please refer to the Management Instruction for 
                              PACS Standardization for additional information.



                                Where

                              This is an ongoing endeavor at applicable 
                              facilities.



                                What

                              This is an effort to standardize physical access 
                              control systems throughout the country.



                                Why

                              This initiative is key to improving security and 
                              service to our customers by better protecting our 
                              assets, both the facilities and personnel, that 
                              make mail delivery possible.
